Anyone have any input on these units.

Says can do HD input up to 50w..

Uses Palomar 9530 FET x4

Ratings say upto 25w in with 100w out

Builder says upto 55 amp draw. Has auto SSB like old Palomar units.

Units are $370 shipped. (About $120 less than a TS500HDV..)

Was entertaining for my AT-6666 as it does 40-50w peak.. mainly SSB.

Builder says 50w input for max output and should reach 450-500w.. says AM dk is 2-5w and swing up from that.

They also now offer a 2x4 LD model for $430 or...

Thinking about adding a small amp to my uniden 980.

Good evening Radio Friends,
Well I'm thinking about adding a small amp to my radio setup in my car. The amp I'm looking at is a Texas star modulator V- plus v with a set of 2879 transistors, it does 100 watts max, the power is variable and has auto SSB built in,there only asking $189.00 + free shipping and it's in my price range! What I need to know(since it's been about almost 15 years since I ran a amp) yes I know it's illegal, but what I need to know is if I can just plug and play so to...

The instruction pic says it's rotated 180 degrees for clarity. Well, it's messing with me. Having trouble getting tuned. I had the flat side tuned good, but the vertical stays above 1.8:1. Strange, the other day the vertical was low.

To me, it looks like both coax connectors are on the same side of the boom, but mine aren't.

I am new to the art of HAM radio and know I have a lot to learn hence my reason for being here. Just a little background. I worked with my hands all my life and rarely took anything to a repair shop as I was able to fix most things on my own. Now days not so much. Diabetes took a good portion of my eyesight. It is my fine vision that is affected the most. It has slowed me down but not stopped me. Anyway, I have been researching HF antennas for my Yaesu FT-450D HF radio for about three weeks....

My rf power is fluctuating from 1/2 to 12 watts . I set the dead key on 2 1/2 watts to drive my amp. Could this be a bad final? Or a bad capacitor? I have not opened the radio yet. I suspect it could be a capacitor near the voltage regulator. Cb tricks symptoms and cure database has been down for weeks . (EPT360014B)

I have researched this forum and other CB forums and this topic has peaked a curiosity question. I am not a radio technician and have only considered CB radio a hobby for the past 18 months.

My question is if I have two Cobra 29s with the same microphones, same antenna, coax setups with acceptable SWR. The first Cobra 29 is stock, but tuned and aligned properly DK 4 watts with a 3:1, 4:1 modulation. The second Cobra 29 has been mod to DK 2 watts and swing to max output. Will one of...

I'm sure many of you remember the "MOD" where 'weakstation' came up with a control circuit using EPROMs to control the PLL and VCO. Lots of channels for different MB8719 chassis.
Pretty much forgot about this till today as I was doing a search for my old Geocities page. The front page is gone but some of the secondary pages still float around!

Cushcraft PD-2 Power Devider ???

If I was to use a power divider on my Cushcraft 148-20T, would both planes need to be tuned the same? Say, if the flat side is tuned to 144.200 and the vertical is tuned to the upper portion of the band, what will I see at the radio? If I'm transmitting on 147 ish and my vertical SWR is flat, but at 144 ish the flat side is 1.8:1, what will that mean? Or, vise versa, I'm working SSB with a near flat SWR horizontal, but the vertical plane sees that high.... The documentation says I'll lose 3...

Please I need any and all help with this radio, This is the last model SBE made, Big AM/SSB Base with digital clock. The radio works 100% and is in mint condition, but I can't find anything on THIS model on the what is the pin out on the microphone connector (5 pin screw on type), also radio has no recieve unless the microphone is plug in to the radio! Any and all help will ge great! I guess this radio is rare enough that no one has the manual or info on it. I have a Sure 526, 6-wire D104 ot...

Rci2990 no display or lights only white noise

I have an Rci2990 that was working perfectly. I moved it from one room to another room . Plugged it in and nothing on the face works . No lights on frequency counter , key pad , or meters . The frequency counter is also blank and it doesn't receive or transmit. Only white noise from the speaker .The tx light comes on when i power it up and the cooling fans are working . Ive checked voltage to the board and also even tested it with another power supply . Anyone has any ideas of where to start...

My homemade dipole, success, but,,,,,,,,,

hi, this is my second time of making a dipole antenna and this one is a success.

It’s made out of some spare RG8U. I had it 18 feet in length and then I trimmed off 1 inch at a time on each end until I got to 1.5 on channel one, and 1.5 on channel 40.

I was afraid to go further. Is this about what I should expect? It’s about 10 feet off the ground on a pole temporarily. I’m going to climb a 36 foot tower and put it in the top tomorrow. By sliding it in the z and then using U bolts...

Tram D201 external VFO low output

i connected a siltronix 90-3 vfo. to Tram #1 i removed the ch23 crystal, and soldered the center of the cable to the bottom (power side) of the channel 23 socket and grounded it away from the socket.Going through the vfo on ch23 I tuned c711 and c712. On am it is getting 1 1/2 watts and a swings to 3watts on ssb it is swinging about 2watts. the reading off the vfo on ch20 is 5watts with a swing to 12watts on am and a 10watt swing on ssb
