Anyone have any input on these units.

Says can do HD input up to 50w..

Uses Palomar 9530 FET x4

Ratings say upto 25w in with 100w out

Builder says upto 55 amp draw. Has auto SSB like old Palomar units.

Units are $370 shipped. (About $120 less than a TS500HDV..)

Was entertaining for my AT-6666 as it does 40-50w peak.. mainly SSB.

Builder says 50w input for max output and should reach 450-500w.. says AM dk is 2-5w and swing up from that.

They also now offer a 2x4 LD model for $430 or...

I see if you look on his site he offers a mod for A "ranger noise" filter and also that he is putting on narrower 7.8 mhz crystal filter I assume the stock is 15khz wide he is going to 10 I've see it on the anytone as well I'd like to know what the mod is. I live in a very loud city lots of noisy stuff factories and such that come through the antenna side of the radios in the mobile especially. Would these type of mods help with this?

Another issue , the Cobra 2000 I bought came with a SSK when I connect it it makes the receive distorted the guy had a jury rigged PC of plastic wedged in the lock button switch to solve the problem which he removed before I got it . He said the relays need cleaning I sprayed it with contact cleaner an to be honest I think it made it worse . I hooked up the Silver Eagle an people say its picking up to much back ground noise ( so I turn it way down) . Before I attempt to clean it can I do it...

Well...Kale came home from the Hospital yesterday, and is doing fine. Just weak, and I would imagine a bit on the sore side...He had Heart Surgery last week, and everything so far seems to have gone well. I talked to him for a few minutes this afternoon on the phone, and he sounded like he was in good spirits, hopefully he will be able to get back on his feet in a few weeks...Just in time to finish raking up the rest of the leaves before mowing season starts!

I decided to start a CB go box project. I would like a unit i could take camping away from my mobile but be able to make some contacts have some fun in the field. I know Go box's are big with the Ham community but i haven't really seen much as far as someone doing it with a CB radio. I have an extra Uniden 980SSB that i was planning on using for the radio as well as an extra RM KL203P amplifer that i was going to use with it as well.

This is untested software, as I have not had the chance to use it myself. But it is supposed to be the 'unlocked software' for ALL Flexradios.

Hi all,

I wanted to post some pics of the amp i am currently working on, since i don't think we have any donkey stomper amplifier pics on the forum yet. (i could be wrong)

so the first few posts will just be pictures of the amp that people can use for their own purposes, but there are a couple of things that caught my eye, and i would like some opinions on.

when I turn on my 142 gtl has a 5 second delay to recieve even when I switch to USB and lsb.

Ok, we have some great threads about different antennas here, so I want to throw something different out here to talk about.

Hi I'm interested extremely in finding a proven way to get some upper channels above 40 on this radio so ANYBODY ?

Clarifier opened too, confirmed method on that as well and these extra channels as one person I heard knows it's possible but has not gotten back to for whatever reason...

Whoever helps me too I can get you the service manual to this radio as I've latched onto that so that should help as well, but someone out is bound to of have the channels installed and it works but I need...

I wasn't expecting anything in return for my recent efforts on a friends 148GTL-DX but he surprised me with a Shure 444-Demco Edition microphone. He told me the element was no good in the microphone but I have a plan and a fix for that. Pictures to come!

Hey guys, I don't have a what is needed to set the wattage down on this radio, no proper equipment, no radio tech's close to me so, when I key the mic the meter in the radio goes up to like a 30 or so in the red, what does this indicate ?....

And also, like to set the dk watts down in it too, can I do this somehow by using the meter inside the radio ?..
Really sux not having a cb shop or tech in the neighborhood...
