Browning Golden Eagle Mark IVA, how to shorten "PING"?

Hi all, I acquired a Browning Golden Eagle Mark IVA to play with and want to shorten or eliminate the "ping". I am guessing that someone may have put a high microfarad cap in at one point to increase the ping but I would like to shorten or eliminate it. I believe you would put in a lower micro-farad capacitor, does anyone know which one to change and what to change it to? Thanks for any help.

Newbie with vertical install of HF antenna

I have just obtained my General license this weekend. Tested for Technician and General. Passed both. Failed Extra but that is ok. Goal was to obtain General.

So now I need to erect an antenna. I was given a Hustler 5dtv vertical. My wife says she is ok to have it in the back yard. So here is my total plan of putting up the antenna. I have a row of junipers along the back fence. I have a spot between two of the junipers that I have cleared out and could install the vertical. So...

I never run the Palomar 350Z in the high position. The reason being is that with 2 Watts DK and 13 pep I get 125 DK and 500 pep (in the low position.)
The only thing the 350z does differently in the high position is gives me a dead key of approximately 300+ Watts with the same 500 pep.
I just wanted to run it in the high position for a few minutes. Unfortunately I forgot that it was indeed in the high position for the two hours I spent on the air that day. On one key down I got long-winded....

President sent me a demo unit to test out -

It's a solid little SSB radio, similar to the Uniden 980 in features however I actually like the layout better on this radio. The variable power is nice and on AM low will do 1 watt swinging 10 watts which is perfect for matching up with a KL203. SSB is about 12-15. I saw a bells video where it showed over 25W AM but I didn't see numbers like that. As Mike mentioned in his video review the roger beep doesn't work...

I'm in the process of refurbishing the 6 CB radio craze amplifies I already own. I've never owned a Golden falcon but I have done some research in the past as I was interested in a much smaller one at the time and wanted to know a little more about this amplifier and it's builder. Hope this thread gets a lot of play on the forum . . . but it is meant as an example for whatever electronics you may be working on . . it can be anything . . .

Got a Gibson Falcon tube guitar amp built around 1968-9. Got it for a song, around fifty bucks. Since it is getting into winter proper, I thought it would be a good time to work on it as a project while stuck indoors.

The person I got it from had gone into the amp to repair it, and what a mess he made of it. Hence the cheap...
