Not talking about a Low Pass filter; but a true band-pass filter?

Like to get one if anyone knows of a company that sells one - or even looking for a schematic to build one . . .

If I did not have bad luck with electronics I would not have any luck at all. So I have a president AX144 radio that has been redone by loosecannon. By the way if not for his generosity I would not have a radio to talk on right now. He placed a relay inside so I could key the lk500. So I finally got to use the lk500 with the radio yesterday everything was working right my SWR on input was 1.1 output SWR the same. Radio keying...

Recently aquired this radio. People talking further away come in just fine. However anyone within 2 miles sounds very distorted, and anyone closer than a mile is just a loud squeal. Only thing I know about this radio is the previous owner said it was peaked and tuned. Any ideas what the issue is?

PHANTOM AMP DRAW?

I've a 9 tube PDX style Phantom. I say 9 tube because it has 9 6LQ6's and 1 small (forgot what it's for) tube.
I recall many owners of the nine 6LQ6 referring to their Phantoms as a 10 tube amplifier even though that tenth tube is not a driver or has anything to do with the output of the amplifier..
My phantom like all other Phantoms runs on 110.
Can someone tell me how many amps it draws from my homes electrical outlet?

bought a defective cannteena dummy load off ebay

I bought a used canntena dummy load that the guy said it just needed oil. when I received it I opened it up and there was paper towels inside it then I saw a brass clamp broken that holds the resister in place. it just had to be the top one. I have searched trying to find one and no luck. a steel clamp will not work with the brass so thought about a 1 inch wide by 4 inch long copper or brass shim stock to replce it with and make my own clamp. that stuff is selling for 17.00 plus for a small...

Apollo 500 amplifier

I picked up a Apollo 500 amplifier at the MIS hamfest it is in great condition and works perfectly. It is a 6 tube amplifier that has 6lf6 tubes in it. I cannot find any information anywhere about this amplifier has anyone seen or heard of this model amplifier?? I tried to unload picture but cannot.

imagine you and a buddy just erected your 1-10k antenna up the hill behind the house,
you have 500ft of rg213 running from the shack to your antenna,

you have no or insignificant common mode current on the braid and the plugs are fitted correctly,

your buddy sits in the tree & hooks his vswr meter right at the antenna feed-point,
he always measures at the feed-point, he won't have none of that coax stuff messing with his readings,

you run back to the shack & hook up your...

We've had a couple of downturns in the CB hobby in the last 20 years but the lackluster cycles and new technology for the new generation really seems to be putting the nail in the coffin.

The two main clubs in my state shut down and the last CB break was 9 years ago I think.

I live in a county of 200,000 people and there isn't a single other CB hobbyist in the entire county, at least no one that I've heard in the last 5 years.

In the area 50 miles north of me there are 2.75 million people...

Odd roger beep problem.

Mirrage 44. If you key the mic half way the beep beeps and stays beeping. It does this with the beep switch on and off.I Changed the two diodes that go to the beep and cap that controls the diration is good also. Why would it do this with the switch in off position? If you key the mic all the way it works normal.

I know 2 guys that may say don't key the mic half way then. L OL

Question on the Vector

It has been described that the basket area of the Vector acts in some ways like a coaxial feedline with separate currents on the inside and outside of the basket. That is fine, but...

What keeps the currents on the inside and outside of said basket on their respective sides?

With a coax, or a t2lt/gainmaster design for example, you have shielding that completely surrounds the center conductor, and currents riding on the separate surfaces of the shielding, each clinging to its own surface....

I have been messing wit this radio on and off for a very long time. Kees up when plugged in but the RX/TL light does not change and when you key the Mic and talk the radio has forward swing. If you take the PA/Squelch out(same Pot.) radio works like it should but RX/TX light stays red and turns green on TX.

No grounds from chassis ground to board ground.
Caps on mic. socket board changed.
parts checked
swopped pa/squelch.
TR47 TX Sw.
TR 27 PA Sw.
C115.
TR 35. Tx inhibitor.
TR 41 and 42...

looking for the right antenna

The Galaxy Melaka came in and I'm new at this CB stuff and need some help from somebody that don't mind helping me. I have lots of questions about getting the right antenna 10 meter?-11 meter? I been looking at the Sirio star duster for starters. There is so much to learn and I just need some guidance on getting started. So if there's somebody out there with the knowledge and patience please bring it back to moonwalker61. over! just using am standard cb

Anyone familiar with Q25, D22, D23 on the CTRL unit?
Mine got smoked by a close lightning strike.

I repaired it but its only partially fixed.
Apparently there are some shorted diodes on the RF-B unit.



History: The radio wouldn't make power, only a 50w carrier on all modes.
It did 100w with only 18db att. on oscillated at 0,6 and 12db, receive was 50% what it should be with 0 Att on the 24mhz up bands..

After fixing the CTRL unit, it would only make power in 6, 12 or 18db att. oscillated...
