High Drive Amps?

Looking for an amp that I can use with my Yaesu FT-991a and Icom 7200 for 10-11m use. Sadly the Yaesu can't go below a 5 watt carrier (way to much for my 667) and the Icom sounds like ass when run below 3-4 watts, so looking for something I CAN run even a 10-20W carrier into and not blow it up. Any suggestions?

Not much out there comes up when you look for High Drive amps, seems the definition is ALL over the place, especially when looking at Texas Star, thanks!

CB Radio webcam stream 2 webcams on feed one cam is pointed at my Imax antenna other cam is pointed at my Cobra 142gtl with audio. The webcam outside is a Microsoft Lifecam Studio the cam point at my radio is a Logitech C615 the C615 I can not used outside with a decent amount of sun white balance sucks.

Anyone familiar with Q25, D22, D23 on the CTRL unit?
Mine got smoked by a close lightning strike.

I repaired it but its only partially fixed.
Apparently there are some shorted diodes on the RF-B unit.



History: The radio wouldn't make power, only a 50w carrier on all modes.
It did 100w with only 18db att. on oscillated at 0,6 and 12db, receive was 50% what it should be with 0 Att on the 24mhz up bands..

After fixing the CTRL unit, it would only make power in 6, 12 or 18db att. oscillated...

I have been messing wit this radio on and off for a very long time. Kees up when plugged in but the RX/TL light does not change and when you key the Mic and talk the radio has forward swing. If you take the PA/Squelch out(same Pot.) radio works like it should but RX/TX light stays red and turns green on TX.

No grounds from chassis ground to board ground.
Caps on mic. socket board changed.
parts checked
swopped pa/squelch.
TR47 TX Sw.
TR 27 PA Sw.
C115.
TR 35. Tx inhibitor.
TR 41 and 42...

RCI-2970N2 won't unkey

I wanted to hook up my 2970n2 to my Amp supply lk500 amp. In order to key the amp with the 2970n2 I was told to use the relay jack in the back of the amp. I ran a jumper from the relay jack to the inside of my D-104 and connected the ground from relay to the shield in mic and the positive side to transmit in mic. The amp did key up but when I went to unkey the mic the radio stayed keyed. I disconnected the mic from the radio hoping the radio would go back to receive mode but it stayed key...

Uniden Washington tinny sounding receiver

Hey guys, I have been trying to find the issue with this receiver. First off, it had a complete re-cap job done recently and a complete alignment, which I double checked. The sensitivity is great. It hears just as good as my HF rigs when compared side by side on the same freq. But it just sounds so tinny. I tried an external speaker that I use on other rigs, but same thing. BTW, I have not heard this radio before the work was done so I really don't know if something was done incorrectly....

President sent me a demo unit to test out -

It's a solid little SSB radio, similar to the Uniden 980 in features however I actually like the layout better on this radio. The variable power is nice and on AM low will do 1 watt swinging 10 watts which is perfect for matching up with a KL203. SSB is about 12-15. I saw a bells video where it showed over 25W AM but I didn't see numbers like that. As Mike mentioned in his video review the roger beep doesn't work...

EFHW Antenna and 49:1 UnUn

Folks,

I built a couple of 49:1 unun transformers attached to a 130' wire. Amazing of how well this works.

Primary has 2 bifilar turns, and secondary is total of 14 turns.

The above picture does not show the 100pF cap across the feedpoint and ground. Having this cap installed does help with the higher frequency bands.

K40 helicoil?

anyone have any thoughts about this antenna? I’ve been using Wilson 5000 with no problems but a friend gave me K40 for free so I’m trying it out. According to meter on radio swr with Wilson was 1:4 and now 1:5. Other than that I don’t know much about them. Any info would help thanks

Study guide for license exam in February

Well I went and started doing some practice questions. I Answered most but a couple conversion questions I scratched my head on.
Question being what is the best way for me to study? Where is a good study guide? I am leaning toward learning all the questions and answers . Surely that would spark several questions and cause me to crack the books. Is there a monster like that? All 430 questions and answers out there on the net? Thanks all Donny
