I have a question or three about the delay on my older dx 350.
Amp info, older Bi-lateral 4 power (Texas Star) dx350. It does have 4 power levels, on AM, on ssb it has 2. Ssb power levels are the 2 lowest of the 4.
My thoughts, I'd like to have a permanent/ automatic ssb delay. Thereby having acces to all 4 power levels while on ssb.
Is this possible? It looks like I could run a wire from the power switch to the positive leg of C4. That way when the amp is on the delay works.

I picked up another DX-350. It has DEI's. When I hook up any CB or Export radio, It has high SWR on channels 1-18, like real high. All the other channels, it's flat. I'm driving around a watt or so, into a Gainmaster. My analyzer shows flatness. My other 350 with Toshiba's, behaves normally. Is this a DEI thing? Oscillations?

I have to admit I was quite surprised to read the badh thread about my business by member RWB at https://www.worldwidedx.com/threads...struction-shop-i44-and-i-49-joplin-mo.236398/
If I had made a mistake I could understand this. However if you read that thread my his own admission he has never had any deallings with me at all. So I do not understand the bashing and exaggerations by him in that thread.

I've been trying to figure out where to install the electrolytic cap and resistor on my Cobra 29. I'd like to install a switch also to turn it on and off. Anybody here know where on the board this goes?

I gotta ask this one...I've heard that you're not supposed to coil up the coax cable from the antenna to the radio. I forgot why but it had something to do with how the radio performs.

I believe I've also read this is bunk.

In my situation I am installing a dual band ham rig in my truck and using a mag mount antenna that comes with like 17 ft. of coax. I did coil the coax under my seat.

Can anyone let me know for a fact if this is ok or not?

Here's the first attempt at a "How2" install a gadget we call the "Peel'N Stick Variable Key".


It's configured for easy installation. Like most of our odd widgets it came about to save labor here performing a popular mod.



It's designed to fit neatly in the Cobra29 type radios, but works in most any AM-only CB. It has two bare wires coming out the bottom. They go into the two holes left by removing the jumper wire that...

Recently aquired this radio. People talking further away come in just fine. However anyone within 2 miles sounds very distorted, and anyone closer than a mile is just a loud squeal. Only thing I know about this radio is the previous owner said it was peaked and tuned. Any ideas what the issue is?

I know the radio can be modded to have it go up to the freeband area but you lose the high end of the 10 meter portion of the band as the highest the radio will now go is 28.302.
Is there a way to have an external switch or use a front panel switch so that you can go from just having the stock frequencies flip the switch and now you have the lower freeband portion???

Looking for an amp that I can use with my Yaesu FT-991a and Icom 7200 for 10-11m use. Sadly the Yaesu can't go below a 5 watt carrier (way to much for my 667) and the Icom sounds like ass when run below 3-4 watts, so looking for something I CAN run even a 10-20W carrier into and not blow it up. Any suggestions?

Not much out there comes up when you look for High Drive amps, seems the definition is ALL over the place, especially when looking at Texas Star, thanks!

I have been told that the length of the coax cable makes a big difference..to use a minium of 50 feet..if your running a amplifier! Is this True or False? Also the type of coax makes a difference..? Is one coax better than others..will it effect your SWR or output power? I've been out of radio many years..forgot more than I can remember! Thank You.(old gut in east texas)
