These storm can really wreak havoc on your utilities and antennas. The other evening we were sitting at the dinner table and the lights flickered a couple of times then normal for about 5 minutes or so and then out all together. The crimp connectors between our wires and the lines from the transformer failed.
No trees downed no car crashes nothing noticeable at all. I cycled the breakers and a portion of the house was relighted. I took the covers off of the breaker box to check incoming...

Just began using one of these.

30 amps continuous/32 amps surge 7"W x 7"D x 2.5"H Wt: 5 lbs Price: $170

No electrical interference at all. It has a dial on the front for eliminating noise, but most reviewers report never using it. Looks like I won't be either.

Fan only runs when needed and is silent. Lighted volt/amp meter.

10 amp cigarette plug on front. Also two sets of 5 amp clip plugs.

The wires in the pic are for the lighted display on my SWR/Power meter....

I recently got a Cobra 29 ltd Classic that when you key the mic, the meter swings BACKWARDS...
So far I've tried it in the mobile, that has a 5' antenna on a spring. My SWR is 1.3 with that setup.
It's had a "swing kit" put into it, before I got it.
Deadkey is 4, swing to 18.
32's I've gotten have all been good, but still the meter swings the wrong way...
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, for this relative noob.

Has anyone ever have 1 of these little cobra 19Ultra. It has no receive stone dead i put another radio next to it with dummy load and the 19ultra had nothing on the meter. It transmits and has good audio but no receive. Tried cb tricks it has some 19 schematics but no 19ultra.

Would anyone have a schematic for the pictured radio or info what might cause no receive?

Hey dudes, I picked up a large LOT of noise toys from a CB shop that was going out of business. All of these are new-in-package. Most have instructions and the few that don't are typical 3 or 4 wire hookup. Some come with push buttons prewired. Most all are typical looking in those little square plastic boxes and are meant to install inside a radio. No surprises - just typical CB noise toys from a variety of the usual manufacturers. Many have shelf prices marked on them and range from $29.95...

First of all I want to say hey , I’ve just joined up. I have a Vietnam made cobra 29 Ltd classic. Fixing to put in a cap and resistor mod and talk back with the resistor across the ext speaker and pa . I want to hook up the talk back to the channel 9 switch. it appears there are more than two wires on the switch. When I disconnect them , do I need to do anything with the wires or just tape em up and put em away. Also my board says the jp36 jumper is jv6 .. what’s up with that ? I bought the...

Does anyone have any insight as to why people would bid up an item hours before auction end? I understand a single bid to get rid of a buy it now option, but otherwise I am dumbfounded. It is like they don't really want a deal, they just want to drive the price up and get everyone's emotions pumping.

Well I went and started doing some practice questions. I Answered most but a couple conversion questions I scratched my head on.
Question being what is the best way for me to study? Where is a good study guide? I am leaning toward learning all the questions and answers . Surely that would spark several questions and cause me to crack the books. Is there a monster like that? All 430 questions and answers out there on the net? Thanks all Donny

I have had this EPTOSSB50B Echo Board. I took it out of a Cobra 29 ltd classic a few years ago. And would like to install it into my RCI-2970n2 Transceiver. By looking up the model I see they were placed in the Galaxy DX33/44/66/77/88) radios. Would anyone have info on how to wire the Echo Board into an RCI-2970N2? 73,

I bought a 300a without the transformer and someone told me they made 2 different types of transformers that use different voltages. Is this true as i found a couple online?

I recently purchased a Taiwan made cobra 148 gtl.From a member here that sold it to me for shipping cost, which I really appreciate. It apparently had been hooked up backwards at some point in its life.The hash chokes were burned up, and the protection diode blown. I got that fixed, and changed a 4.7 uf electrolytic cap that was corroded by the brown glue. Then fired it up and cautiously have done some testing on it.

The radio has full output power on ssb, with excellent sounding audio,it...

What's the story on this radio? What finals and driver does it have, I can't seem to find much detailed information about these. A local guy has one and it appears he smoked the power supply. He's all wound up about getting an upgraded replacement supply for it. He bought numerous items from this Jokerman electronics. He was running this radio with a Texas Star 667 (I know damn) with the radio turned all the way down. That's a whole different discussion there let me tell you, he is convinced...

Dude needs to look at RF grounding or get rid of his Wizard Built amplifier. He probably has two fiddy invested in chokes.
